A young Princess who died 2,500 years ago was to take the author on a 700-mile cycle ride across France in search of clues as to her death. In the process, he was able to research and compile a fascinating route for cyclists of all ages and capabilities, taking in the cities of Rouen, Paris, Dijon and Lyon as well as hundreds of tiny villages along the backroads of France.
The route follows the Seine right up to its source, and then the Rhône/Saône corridor down to the Roman town of Arles, once one of the busiest ports on the Mediterranean.
A 12-day adventure along the ancient Tin Road of Europe, which you can experience either from your armchair or, better still,
ON YER BIKE!
